We would like to advise residents of road works scheduled to commence within the area of Clonfad Solar Farm from the Monday 14th April 2025.
Traffic Management Details
• Trench works on the R446
• From Crossroads @ L5008 on the R446 towards Esker farm
• STOP & Go system will be in place
Local access will be maintained at all times. It is necessary to carry out these works with a Stop and Go Traffic Management Plan, however we will work proactively to minimise disruption.
The following road closures will be taking place in the coming weeks:
- L1007 - Monday February 24th to Tuesday 25th (Road crossing works)
- L5009 - Friday February 28th (Road crossing works)
Please note that signed diversion routes will be in place. Local access will be maintained where possible.
It is neccessary to carry out these works under road closures and we aim to minimise disruption at all times.
Shut down on site will commence from Fri 20th December returning on 6th January 2025.
24hr security will be on site throughout the holidays

Last Friday marked a significant milestone for our ambitious 174MW Clonfad Solar Farm project - the successful delivery of our state-of-the-art grid transformer.
Traffic Management Update: Delivery
Scheduled to start the week commencing Monday 22nd July 2024.
Project deliveries will take place between the hours of 8am – 6pm.
The loads will be travelling on the R446 / L5008.

General update:
Additional works/services that have been put in place during the mobilisation to site:
- All public roads are being monitored daily
- All access to site haul roads have been resurfaced as well as the junction at L5008 / L1007 to mitigate against damage by construction traffic, local roads are being checked and monitored for signs of wear and tear
- Maintenance will be performed for the duration of the project followed by final reinstatement on completion of the project
- Dust suppression will be provided on the roads when required
- Gatemen are in place at the site compound for security
- A road sweeper vehicle is on-site to keep local public roads clean.
We recently circulated a letter to residents around the Clonfad area informing them of the commencement of works to construct this solar project.

General construction works commencing in various locations across the site with the establishment of site roads & entrance ways etc ongoing.
As part of the development process of the permitted Clondfad Solar Project, we recently informed residents, by way of a letter drop in the local area, that we would soon be starting the initial stages of enabling works for construction.
These works have progressed and the compound and internal road network is near completion. Delivery of materials etc. will be ongoing.
