Supporting Communities

At Statkraft, we aim to develop and maintain strong relationships in the communities where we work. Engagement begins at the early stages of the development process and runs right through the project life cycle, as we believe successfully delivering these projects requires a partnership based on trust and compromise. During the consultation process, our objective is not to seek support for the proposal but to provide information to allow you to develop your own considered opinion, based on accurate information, on what this proposal has to offer. As this process develops, we will continue to work with you to ensure that this wind farm delivers effective climate action while also delivering for the local area.

Community Benefit Fund

Statkraft works with local communities to deliver renewable energy projects that ensure that Ireland's homes and businesses can be powered by clean, green energy. Through our projects we can support local initiatives in communities via the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) Community Benefit Fund which can  be used for the wider economic, environmental, social and cultural well-being of the local community. With a value of €2 per megawatt hour, some of the community benefit initiatives rolled out as a result of renewable energy projects developed by Statkraft in Ireland include:

•           Outdoor amenity areas

•           Retrofitting housing schemes

•           Energy efficiency schemes

•           Sport and recreational facilities

•           Educational supports

•           Community spaces for locals

•           Biodiversity initiatives
